Some of you might know already but there has been a move among the high and mighty at Riverford Organic Vegetables (ROV) to come up with a program to get people cooking. Various seminars and meetings of potential torch bearers have taken place and soon these messengers will be winging their way towards you bearing news of supper clubs, cookery lessons, ‘chop and chats’ and there are even rumours of what virtually amounts to a travelling circus moving around the farms during the summer. Please don’t get my slightly sardonic delivery wrong...

The Riverford meatbox: Available in three different sizes, small, medium and large, with meat portion weights to suit different household requirements. Our small box meat portions will feed two; our medium is tailored to suit a family with young children; and our large for a household with teenagers. Box contents change fortnightly to offer variety and we include a free taster in every box - a culinary gesture from us to you. We also include an informative newsletter which includes full-blown recipes and a meal planner so you'll have plenty of ideas of what to do with the contents.

The freezer boxes: For bulk buying, we offer the all organic beef, lamb, pork, chicken and steak boxes - fresh meat of your favourite variety - ideally suited for home freezing and competitively priced.

Meatbox extras: An extensive list of items that can suppliment your regular meat box order - or if you wish, you can order exclusively from the list to create your own bespoke box - for as little as £25. We have recently added a whole host of new items and a wider selection of prime organic roasting joints.

NEW for 2010 - the winter warmer box: We have introduced a box of items suited to casserole/stew and soup making. The contents are aimed to provide the means to produce deliciously comforting slow-cooked dishes to warm the whole familiy during the cold months. Because of the nature of the cuts it contains it is also a very economical box. Click on the image below for a selection of our recipes that use the contents of the winter warmer box.
